So, I got quite a sweet comment from Neil (after we started dating) for winning animal festival in beginner class. Surely I thought if I win in higher classes - intermediate and advanced - I'll get even better praises... I mean, it's only natural, right? However, I found out that whoever did the script writing for this game is rather... weird ^^; So, winning in beginner you'll get sweet encouraging words, in intermediate you'll get nasty - possibly heartbreaking - response (seriously, if you have a soft heart, I advise not talk to him after winning in intermediate, you'll just end up hating him xp) and in advanced, you'll get the same comment like if you win in advanced class for other festivals like crops or cooking (see my earlier post entitled Neil and Festivals to be clearer ^__^) which is quite OK but not that special... At least he admits that you're pretty good or amazing, instead of being impatient towards you for telling him about your victory ^^;
I considered to post the nasty comment from intermediate class winning but decided that I'd better not. While I'm not really affected much by it (well, it did somewhat remind me of the fiasco a couple years ago; the bluest time of my life xp, and I felt 'ugh' for a short while, but since I'm quite a heartless and nasty person, I got over it pretty quickly xp), I think posting it will ruin the atmosphere of this blog ^^; I want this blog to only contain happy lovey dovey stuff and not the depressing ones (please, I need a break from my life xp). But I'll describe what happened just for your information...
So, it seems to me that the script writer wanted to make Neil woke up at the wrong side of his bed the morning of that very day. Thus, when I (the main character) happily tell him about my winning, he impatiently snapped that of course he knows because he's the one who did the judging. Then, the script writer wanted me as the main character to get hurt and all tears. Seeing me crying, he became more upset. His line was something like this... *recalling* "I-Idiot! Why do you have to be all teary? Just let it slide away as usual." Now, this 'idiot' word may turn your love to him into hate at once - I read someone's review saying that she broke up with him right after that - but if only you analyze deeper, you'll find that he actually regretted his nastiness. Here's what he thought, according to my understanding; all along you always stick to him even when he pushed you away and gave you cold shoulder, so he thought this time you'd be just fine too with his 'bad mood'... but then you cried... Though actually regretting, instead of apologizing for snapping, thanks to his lack of social skills, he ended up snapping again ^^; In his frustration because his girlfriend kept on crying while everybody was around, he sadly accused you of not caring about what other people thinks. Well, if it was the real me, I wouldn't cry in that situation. Instead, I'd likely to throw back some nasty words at him and we'd end up fighting xp
I think the script writer perhaps wanted to give some reality feeling - hey, relationship between two persons isn't always all roses ^^; Though I myself personally would prefer the fairy-tale-live-happily-ever- after kind better xp I mean, if I want annoying problematic relationship, I can always find it a lot in real life; why must I get one too in my game life? xp But then again I also think that maybe the script writer want to test the girl players who choose Neil. I mean, once you're dating him and he started to become sweet, you may forget about his nature... So, when his old bad habit (being nasty, that is xp) happens to resurface, will you still love him or hate him? Hehehe... If that's the case, I think I have passed the test with flying colors, right? xp But from the game point of view, that 'incident' doesn't reduce his FP - talking to him at festival increases his FP instead, just like with other villagers. What it may reduce is, well, your personal affection to him... if you choose to let it that way xp
Anyway, here's his comment that's quite OK from the animal festival, intermediate class:
Well, I guess I kind of feel reassured that he won't easily forget me xp
